The idea

Photography as it happens, by everyone who’s there.

The best photographs of any evening aren’t the posed ones. They’re the candid frames the night produces on its own — a glance across the table, the godmother laughing at a toast, a child asleep on a folded coat. Festoso was built around a single observation: at every event in the modern world, that photograph has already been taken. It is on someone’s phone. You just can’t see it.

So we built the shared event camera. Every guest scans a QR code at the door. Every photograph they take from that moment forward flows into a single, private, live feed — viewable on the dance-floor screen, the cocktail-bar TV, the projector in the barn. It is the wedding photographer’s vantage, multiplied by every person you’ve invited.

When the evening ends, the host downloads the full archive as a single file. Ninety days later we delete every trace, on a schedule you can extend or accelerate. No background scraping, no surprise resurfacing, no targeted advertising woven from the faces of your guests. Just the night, captured by everyone, returned to you, and then quietly let go.

    Every phone at your event contributes to a single shared roll. The pictures arrive in the order they were taken — not the order anyone got around to posting them.

    No app install for guests

    Guests scan a QR code, enter a short password, and begin shooting. On iPhone it opens an instant App Clip; on Android, a web join page. No store visit, no account.

    Live on any screen

    A single URL projects the live feed onto the TV at the venue, the projector in the ballroom, the iPad on the bar. Photographs cross-fade as they arrive, with a slow Ken Burns drift.

    Discreet moderation

    Optional AI moderation reviews each upload before it reaches the wall, filtering anything inappropriate. Organizers can multi-select and delete from the dashboard in two taps.

    Bulk download & deletion

    Export every photograph as a single archive the morning after. We retain everything for ninety days, then delete it — no thumbnails, no backups, no recovery.

    Branded for your event

    Set the event name, the cover colour, the printed QR card. The product surface reads as your event’s. Available on every paid tier.

Questions

A few things worth asking.

How is this different from an iMessage shared album?

Shared albums cap at 100 contributors and require everyone to be on iOS, or on Android with Google set up just so. Mixed–platform events fall apart at the door. Festoso has no contributor cap, no platform requirement for guests, a live screen feed, an organizer dashboard, retention controls, and bulk export. It is a different category of product.

What if a guest uploads something inappropriate?

Two layers of defense. Optional AI moderation (included with Event Plus, $5 add–on otherwise) filters anything explicit through AWS Rekognition before it reaches the live feed. Organizers can multi–select and delete anything from the dashboard in two taps. Moderation defaults to on for venue accounts.

Do you use my photographs to train models?

No. Photographs are stored encrypted in AWS S3, scoped to the single event, and deleted on the retention schedule you choose. We do not license your data to anyone. The AI moderation feature evaluates each upload for content flags and retains nothing. Full detail in our privacy policy.

What happens at day ninety?

We email fourteen days before the retention window closes. You may export the entire event as a single archive, or pay $10 to extend retention for another ninety days. After deletion we keep nothing — no thumbnails, no backups, no recovery. Deletion is final, by design.

Does it work on Android?

Yes. Native apps ship on both the App Store and Google Play at launch. Real evenings are mixed–platform; we would be of little use otherwise.

Can guests record video?

Yes, on both platforms. Clips up to thirty seconds are supported at launch, streamed–upload so longer files don’t crash devices. The in–capture editor is photo–only for the moment; videos upload raw.

What is the refund policy?

Full refund before your event start time — email support@festoso.app. Once the event has begun we cannot refund the event SKU, but we will work with you directly if something went wrong on our end. Full policy in Terms § 5.
